Server Software Update Notification: 08-01-2011

This notice contains information for the group of server updates (or dist) occurring August 01, 2011 through August 03, 2011 in all datacenters. Until that time, all of the information included in this document is subject to change. Important updates in this Notification: The following updates affect popular or important services and programs:

  • CPX 2.0.3 (Linux and v3)

 

Linux MPS/VPS


The following updates will be made to the Linux VPS/MPS platform.

Important services to be restarted:


The following services will be restarted by Verio as part of the update:

  • vsapd (CPX)
  • Apache

No Action Needed


The following Linux VPS/MPS updates do not require action by customers to take advantage of the full benefits of the update. Some services may be rebooted as part of the update.

CPX 2.0.3
CPX will be update to version 2.0.3. As part of this update, CPX will now check if a user limit exists for a domain in the CPX configuration file (cpx.conf).

In addition, the add domain template in CPX will be updated to include a rewrite rule to block Trace and Track requests. The rewrite rule will appear similar to the following:

This version also addresses several outstanding issues, included in the following:

  • Issue with attachment filenames that are encoded by "RFC 2231"
  • Problem with Japanese translation when importing addresses.
  • Folders named with multi-byte characters displaying incorrect file sizes.
  • Updated to check if email address or user is valid when forwarding mail.
  • Problem with sending .xlsx files as attachments.
  • Save draft does not work when To Cc: Bcc: contains an invalid address.
  • Corrected Japanese translation of the word CPX in online help.
  • Check for negative UIDs and correct issue with invalid X-UID headers.
  • Unable to clear Junk folder when size exceeds the user’s quota.
  • Added support for MySQL5.1.
  • Problem with Firewall levels showing that do not match plan limits.
  • Update to better manage vsapd restarts.
  • Problem with modify external mailing lists.
  • Problem with files containing "Tabs" being removed.
  • Podcast creation date now has option for 2011.
  • CPX.log file updated to include more information such as disabled services.
  • Corrected CPX Webmail timestamp issue on sent emails when using daylight savings.
  • Problem with Domain Admins disk usage not updating when adding an end user using vadduser.
  • Problem with mail not forwarding when only the "username" is specified.
  • Corrected problem with log rotation not disabling when creating log rotation for disabled domain.

 

FreeBSD MPS/VPS v3


The following updates will be made to the FreeBSD VPS/MPS v3 platform.

Important services to be restarted:
