Server Software Update Notification - 12-14-2009
The following updates will be sent out to all Signature servers beginning on 12/16/2009.
Signature
- WordPress Upgrade
- WordPress is being updated to version 2.8.5. This will be available by default for new installs. If a customer
installs WordPress for the first time, they will get version 2.8.5. If a customer wants to upgrade from the current
version of WordPress, they must:
- Go to their WordPress control panel and back up their WordPress data (consult WordPress help for details)
- Uninstall WordPress from the Hosting Control Panel by clicking the Uninstall button in the WordPress window.
- Click the Install button from the same window to load version 2.8.5
- Go back to the WordPress control panel and reinstall their saved data For more information on the latest

- 2048 Bit Encryption
- Updated SSL certifications will utilize 2048 bit encryption. First time SSL Certificate customers will get 2048 Bit
encryption.
Current customers (using the 1024 bit encryption) will have to remove existing SSL certificates/keys/CSRs before
installing the 2048 bit key.
- Updated php5
- Updated php to version 5.2.11. Updates in this version include:
- Security update for certificate validations
- Fixed word wrapping issue
- Fixed IMAP crashing issue

- Updated phpMyAdmin
- Updated phpMyAdmin to version 2.11.9.6. This update is to counter a discovered Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability.

- Web Access UserID Login
- Updated Control Panel so that customers may create Web Administrator user id’s with just numbers and letters. Previously,
when a customer tried to create a user with a name consisting of just numbers, an error message appeared. Now, customers can
create a Web Administrator ID using just numbers, or numbers and letters.
- Email Updates and Bug Fixes

- Updated code so that email addresses xx..xx@(any_domain) and xx@(any_domain) can be used for webmail, mail forwarding
and mail blocks. Previously, the system would not allow customers to do sorting or send messages using this type
of address.
- Updated code so that large files are properly saved to Draft or Sent Items folders. This is to accommodate
the increase in email size to 25MB.
- Sub-Users Have Same Preferences as Account Owner
- Updated code so that, when an account owner creates a sub-user, the sub-user will have the same profile
preferences (time zone, etc.) of the account owner. Previously, the sub-user would have the default user
preferences.
- Word Wrap Correction
- Updated code so that I.E. 7 users will not see a word wrap problem on certain pages in the Signature
Control Panel.
- Help File Update
- Updated Adding an Attachment for English and Japanese to describe the increase in webmail message size.
