Server Software Update Notification: 01-09-2009
Important updates in this Notification:
- Dovecot for v3 and v2
- vroot for v3 and v2
- ClamAV for v2

FreeBSD MPS/VPS v3:
- Dovecot
- The Dovecot email server will be updated to version 1.1.6_1. This version updates the server. More information

The email server will be restarted as part of this update. No action needed.
- vroot
- The vroot administration utility will be updated to enable repeatable menu selections without exiting the utility. The utility
will also be updated to disconnect after 5 minutes of inactivity while in the vroot menu. This update affects the vroot utility
only. No action needed.
- Portupgrade
- The Index-6.db file used by Portupgrade will be updated to reflect current packages and dependencies. Some package and port
timestamps will also be updated. No action needed.
- PNG
- The libpng reference library will be updated to version 1.2.33. This version brings the library to the most current FreeBSD

- ClamAV
- The vinstall for ClamAV, a GPL virus scanner, will be updated to address issues with the ClamAV milter consuming
inordinate system resources. The ClamAV daemon will be restarted as part of this update. No action needed.
Note: If you wish to keep your current ClamAV configuration, you may use
the above vinstall to upgrade the program. Then answer "no" when prompted "Would you like to configure
your ClamAV installation? [yes]:" to keep your current configuration.
Signature:
The following updates will be sent out starting 1-14-2009 for all Signature servers.
- Control Panel Main Page
- Updated the Control Panel so that the "How are We Doing" link is visible to account owners only.
This prevents end users from clicking the link and possibly getting an error message.
- Urchin
- Updated Urchin to ensure all reports are available.
- Autoreply Feature
- Updated the Autoreply feature so a customer can delete all Autoreply messages at once.
- Update code so that the account owner can edit/enable the autoreplies they own and those owned by sub-users,
from the Manage Autoresponders link in the User List.
- SSL Tool
- Updated SSL Tool page so that customers cannot enter an email address in the form. Some Certificate
Authorities do not allow the "@" symbol in email addresses, so the field was removed to enable customers
to submit the request without it coming back with an email-address associated error. Also created a new feedback
message and added error checking for invalid characters in the Organization and Organizational Unit fields.
- FormMail Return Page
- Updated FormMail so that certain Japanese characters are not garbled when the form is submitted.
- "Email Blocks" Feature Error
- Message
- Updated code so that when a customer accesses the Email Blocks feature and attempts to use non-ascii
characters for an email userID, an error message appears that properly describes the condition. Previously a
general email message appeared that did not provide enough information for a customer to correct the issue.
- Email Privileges for Sub-users
- Updated code so that previously created sub users could receive email messages after their email permissions
were enabled post creation.
- Help Files
- Updated Control Panel Version History, to reflect relevant customer facing changes in this version of the
control panel.
- Updated Managing FormMail help file link so that it points to proper data inside the file instead of an
external file.
- Updated Counters help file in Japanese, to explain differences in counter hits for .com and .com/index.htm
pages.
- Updated Japanese Frequently Asked Questions file, to answer requests for new information on that page.
- Updated Custom Filters help file to better describe the way separate rules work inside a filter, and how filters
are prioritized for incoming email messages.
- Updated Outgoing Mail help file, to ensure customers know how to set up their encoding options to ensure
that their autoreplies are not garbled when they get to the recipient.
- Updated Composing a Message help file, by adding new text at the top of the file describing the methods for
accessing the Compose Message window. This function describes what to do in cases where customer has different
encoding schemes for autoreply and outgoing mail to ensure the autoreply is readable.
