Connecting with MicroSoft® Frontpage® 2002

What happened to FrontPage and FrontPage extensions? After nine years of being a popular Web authoring tool, FrontPage was discontinued by Microsoft in 2006. Effective June 30, 2006 support for the Microsoft FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions for UNIX was also stopped by Microsoft. There are no plans for a FP2003 Server Extensions for UNIX release. Please refer to Microsoft for additional information. You may continue to use the FPSE kit that you have previously installed. There will be no future releases, bug fixes or security patches.
Install MicroSoft FrontPage on your local computer. One option for connecting to your Signature Hosting account is provided by the FrontPage's Help documentation:

Open a web
  • On the File menu, click Open Web, and then do one of the following:
    • To open a disk-based web on your local computer, in the Folder Name box, type the path to the folder containing the web, and then click Open.

For example, to open a web named Northwind located on your C: drive in the My Webs folder, you would type C:\My Webs\Northwind.

Or, use the Look In box to navigate to the My Webs folder (or any other folder containing webs). In the list of webs, select the web you want, and then click Open.
    • To open a disk-based web on a network computer, use the Look in box to navigate to the network drive and folder containing the web you want to open. In the list of webs, select the web you want, and then click Open.

Tip To map a network drive without leaving the Open Web dialog box, click Tools, and then click Map Network Drive.
    • To open a web on a server, in the Folder Name box, type the URL to that web, and then click Open.
For example, to open a web named Northwind on a server named My Server, you would type http://My Server/Northwind.
    • To open a subweb displayed in the Folder List of another web, double-click the subweb.
